NO
QUESTION, COMPS ARE GREAT...
> a) If you are a mega competitive racing pilot you get to flex
your wings and make your mark.
If you are a mega competitive racing pilot you get to bomb out in
turkey patch on the first day and spend the rest of the week bewailing
your fate and being grumpy with everyone. If that doesn't work, you'll
put in a protest using a selfish interpretation of the rules. You dream
about retrimming everyone else's glider. Just when you smoke into goal
first on a task, you find the stupid tracklog hasn't dropped a point in
the sector when you KNOW you were there for all of 0.025 seconds. On
the next task you hope that you will be the last one in
the gaggle to get a full blowout on speedbar, because then you'll be in
front when you hit the deck...
> b) If you are good natured competitive (like me) and enjoy
being in the boxing ring with everybody else.
If you are good natured then you aren't competitive, if you are
competitive you don't actually enjoy being in the boxing ring when
you're being hammered into the ropes by a stupid intermediate pilot who
just flew over your head with her legs wide open wobbling along
like a drunken duck and then when you see her after the task she says
'oh it was sooooo easy, i just flew straight' and you spent three hours
grovelling in a 0.1ms with your wing tucking every minute and
its been worse than that jackass when he went in the ring with the
world female thaiboxing champ and got his ass kicked and all his
friends laughed as they took him off to hospital and you begin to
wonder why the hell you drove all this way to be outflown by a girl.
> c) If you are not competitive and just want to spend a
week-long fly away flying, drinking and having fun with your mates.
yeah, you got that right. ;-)
